Product Description

Calcium hydroxide, commonly known as slaked lime or hydrated lime, appears as a fine white powder.
It has a density of 2.24 g/cm3 and is slightly soluble in water, exhibiting strong alkalinity. When exposed to air, it gradually absorbs carbon dioxide and becomes calcium carbonate.
It is soluble in acids and is often used as an environmental acid-base neutralizer, for improving acidic soils, and as an additive in chemical processes.

Process Overview

Selected limestone is subjected to high-temperature calcination at 1100 degrees Celsius, causing it to decompose into calcium oxide (CaO).
Adequate clean water is added to react with the calcium oxide to form calcium hydroxide ( Ca(OH)₂).
Subsequently, the product is dried, pulverized, sieved, or classified through air separation, and then packaged as the final product.

Applications

Used as an environmental acid-base neutralizer: for treating acidic wastewater or sewage, boiler flue gas desulfurization, etc.
Used as a chemical raw material: as a neutralizing agent, pharmaceutical antacid, coagulant, or for producing bleaching powder, light calcium carbonate, chemical reagents, calcium alkyl sulfonate, calcium hypochlorite, etc.
Used in construction materials: as a soil stabilizer, concrete conditioning agent, gypsum board joint setting agent, stone cutting aid, construction adhesive ingredient, etc.
Used in agriculture and livestock industry: for disinfection in fish ponds and pigsties, cultivation of mushrooms (such as shiitake mushrooms), and soil acidification or improvement in agriculture. For example, Bordeaux mixture, a green pesticide, can be used for fruit trees and vegetables.
Other applications: additives, leather fillers, metallurgy, coatings, petroleum lubricants, papermaking, food, pharmaceuticals, animal feed, etc.
